ABOUT US

Port Douglas Wedding Photographers is made up of Rob & Jacky Cooke and Kate Richards.

Rob and Jacky sailed into Port Douglas in 1990 with no fixed destination, and have been taking photographs of the region for the past 20 years.  

Jacky studied photography in South Africa under one of South Africa's leading photographers (Obie Oberholzer) obtaining a diploma of photography before emigrating to Australia. Having the opportunity to work as an underwater photographer/ videographer on the Great Barrier Reef was an experience which honed her photography skills and, with a developing interest in wedding photography, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 (with distinction) in media studies and sociology.

Like Jacky, Rob found the underworld of the reef an incredible realm for photography, but came up for air and since 1998 has worked as principal wedding photographer for clients from all around Australia who choose this idyllic destination for their marriage vows.

Kate Richards met Jacky and Rob several years ago and, as their shared talent and passion for photography flourished, has become a vital member of their team. In 2004, a unique opportunity  presented  itself and  Kate headed south to film
and dive Antarctica. Kate now specialises in capturing tropical
weddings in the Port Douglas & Cairns region.

Port   Douglas   Wedding   Photographers   use  professional
Canon Digital  cameras  &  lenses,  and  all  images undergo
digital post production editing.
